CANTON - It only took John Boccieri 442 days to register to vote in Ohio's 16th Congressional District.
He didn't register when he announced, he didn't register before the primary, he didn't register when newspaper coverage said he had "rented a home in the district" almost two months ago.
"Why does John Boccieri have to be dragged kicking and screaming to live in a district he says he wants to represent?" asked PJ Wenzel, Campaign Manager for Kirk Schuring.
Since announcing his candidacy on May 9, 2007, for the 16th Congressional District, the Youngstown area legislator has been registered to vote in the 6th Congressional District.
In fact, he did not even vote for himself in the 16th District Primary. He voted in his home 6th Congressional District.
"Senator Boccieri's residence and registration issues are important to voters. This 11th hour move 442 days after he announced his candidacy tells us voters have been telling him that. Unfortunately for Sen. Boccieri he has waited too long," said Kirk Schuring.
"The Mahoning Valley already has two representatives in Congress - they don't need a third," said Kirk Schuring.
