RELEASE: Schuring Says "Bring the Price of Energy Down Now"

This just in...

(CANTON) - State Senator Kirk Schuring, candidate for the 16th Congressional District seat, reaffirms the need to bring the price at the pump down right now. Schuring's statement on America's energy crisis:

"People throughout this district are feeling the price crunch every time they fill their car up with gas. We need to bring these prices down, and do it now. This can be done. First, we must increase the supply of oil for people to start paying less at the pump. In order to accomplish this, we need to drill in ANWR and push to open up offshore drilling right now. Secondly, we must start building more nuclear power plants and oil refineries. My opponent, like many in Washington, is against drilling for oil, but that's wrong and a true indication of how badly Washington is broken. Once these common sense, short-term solutions are made, consumers will finally start seeing cheaper gas prices, but we must start now."

Schuring continued, "Long term, we must focus on the development of alternative energy resources such as hydro, wind, solar and nuclear - but especially clean coal. In addition, we must scrutinize those who game the oil futures market and keep them from manipulating it to increase the price of oil."
