Is August the Month of Slaby Syndrome?

This just in from the Cincinnati Enquirer:
EAST PRICE HILL-- An 11-month-old child was found dead this afternoon in a car outside the main building on the campus of Cincinnati Christian University on Glenway Avenue in Price Hill.

Cincinnati Police Lt. Mark Briede said the female child was left in the car by her mother, who worked at the school.

Sgt. Joe Briede of the homicide unit said the mother called 911 about 4:30 p.m. to report the child was dead in the car seat in the back of the car. The child was believed to have been in the car since this morning.

The Hamilton County coroner's office and homicide investigators are on the scene.

Investigators were planning to interview the parents at the Criminal Investigations Section downtown.

We at WMD followed with disgust the story of Brenda Slaby, the so-called educator who left her own child to die while shuttling donuts into her staff at Glen Este Middle School. Slaby was found not guilty despite a history of neglect documented by day cares and others, and was paid to leave her job as principal with a six figure settlement. We note as the Enquirer does:
Last August, a 2-year-old child died after she was left inside a hot car for nearly eight hours while her mother went to work at Glen Este Middle School.

The mother, Brenda Nesselroad-Slaby said she forgot the child was in the car. No charges were filed.

Will we now be deluged with commercials about this to raise "awareness" of what should be common sense---DON'T LEAVE YOUR BABY IN THE CAR!!!!!!!!!!

Sad, truly sad....
