BOSTON – In a new TV ad released at a press conference in downtown Boston , US Senate candidate Jeff Beatty promised to use his term in office to be the change that puts Massachusetts first. As the election moves into its final phase, Beatty -- a former teamster, businessman, Purple Heart veteran of the Delta Force, former member of the FBI Hostage Rescue Team and CIA Counter-Terrorism Unit – pledged to continue his fight to bring change and new leadership to the U.S. Senate for the benefit of Massachusetts residents.
“John Kerry, Enough!,” said Beatty today in front of supporters at the Fannie Mae building in downtown Boston . “In 24 unproductive years in the Senate, you have passed too few bills, done too little to help people live their daily lives, and instead of cleaning up this financial mess, throughout your entire career, you have taken special interest money and turned your back on this problem.” Beatty pointed out Kerry’s refusal to return the $111,000 in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contributions, or even acknowledge the issue. Beatty continued. “The people of the Commonwealth deserve a U.S. Senator who will put their interests first; I will be that senator.”
Beatty has been talking to voters for more than a year and a half talking about the things that are most important to them: the economy, bringing victory and honor to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan , passing comprehensive energy reform for the United States , bringing good jobs and companies to Massachusetts and solving our immigration problem.“Throughout this campaign people have been talking to me about their aspirations and goals,” said Beatty. “They are the mothers whose sons and daughters are in Iraq and want them to have victory with honor; they are the union workers who want to keep their jobs - and are looking for a sensible immigration policy that works for people who follow the rules instead of break them; and it is the families who are struggling to pay this winter’s heating oil bills. These people want elected officials to look out for them instead of looking out for big spending special interests. They need a senator who will lead during this current financial crisis, not take lobbyist money to fuel his political ambitions”
Beatty concluded, “Yes, John Kerry is one of our richest senators, but he is also one of the least productive. It’s time to replace him with one of us, someone who will finally put Massachusetts and its citizens first.”
Beatty’s new ad is available at JeffBeatty.com and will begin running on stations around the Massachusetts tomorrow.
