BOSTON– U.S. Senate candidate Jeff Beatty today praised Sen. John McCain’s call for Americans to put “Country First”. After more than a year traveling Massachusetts, Beatty is moving into the final phase of this campaign – looking forward to meeting all of the voters and challenging his competitors to put country over selfish political interests. Beatty is looking forward to working with the new administration to put “Massachusetts First” and restore leadership and accountability to the state’s junior senate seat.
“John Kerry voted for the war in Iraq, not because he thought it was the right thing to do, but because his political advisors told him it would make him a more viable presidential candidate,” Beatty said. “The people of Massachusetts deserve better. Just as John McCain and Sarah Palin have pledged to put ‘Country First,’ as a U.S. senator I will put the citizens of Massachusetts first. Together we will win the 12 electoral votes for McCain/Palin and I will win the Senate seat in November.”
Beatty has dedicated a lifetime to serving his country and the Commonwealth, first as a Army Delta Force Officer, then as an FBI agent and CIA counter-terrorism officer. After leaving the CIA, Beatty founded TotalSecurity.US, a nationally respected security consulting firm that has provided crucial anti-terrorism assistance to the MBTA, Boston Public Schools and other organizations charged with ensuring the safety of Massachusetts citizens.
Based on his extensive national security experience, Beatty said he is convinced that John McCain and Sarah Palin are the team that is most qualified to address the challenges now facing America.
“I endorsed John McCain before Super Tuesday because I believe he’s the right person to deal with our country’s two pressing challenges: restoring our economy and bringing tough, visionary leadership on national security,” Beatty said. “And I’m just as certain that in Gov. Palin, Sen. McCain has found the rock-solid executive and no-nonsense reformer America needs to help President McCain bring true change and accountability to Washington.”
This week, Beatty will make appearances in Belmont, Worcester, Marblehead, New Bedford and Norwood.
