Columbus – The following statement can be attributed in whole or in part to Mike Crites, Republican candidate for Ohio Attorney General:
“Today’s filing represents just the beginning of a groundswell of support that my campaign has received over the past few weeks. With our team now in place and operating at full capacity, we expect these numbers to grow quickly.
“I’ve spent August traveling the state and building support from voters in every region. As I meet with Ohioans, one thing’s clear. They’re tired of the status quo in Columbus and eager to elect an attorney general who’s qualified to run the office and committed to the job -- not one who’ll use the office as a stepping stone to higher office.
“Based on the many financial commitments we’ve received from people across the state, we expect to raise more than a million dollars by October. We know we will be outspent by Richard Cordray, but – as Betty Montgomery showed in 1994 – a qualified candidate can be outspent two to one by a career politician and still win.”
