I have some friends in the local media here in Brown County. They told me last night of a disgusting story being shopped around by Democrats in the county. Luckily, neither paper has reported the disgusting rumors. The rumors center around Republican incumbent for Clerk of Courts, Tina Meranda.
Now, as readers of WMD know, I am not the biggest fan of Mrs. Meranda. She and I do not agree on some things, and we are not friends. However, the disgusting totally unfounded rumor that she has faked having a very nasty form of cancer is disgusting. The fact that the Brown County Democrat party has felt so insecure in the election that they feel the need to attempt to spread these sorts of disgusting lies should make citizens sick.
Anyone who has seen or been in contact with Ms. Meranda over the past year or so would know she has not faked anything.
Here is the fact of the matter. Vote for her or don't based on her performance. The details of her personal life and health are no one's business.
Of course, spreading rumors is nothing new to the Democrats. Their candidate for recorder has engaged in phone calls spreading false and scurrlious accusations against her Republican opponent.
Win or lose based on your candidate, qualifiations, and ability to serve. You do not need to try to spread rumors about someone with health issues.
While I am not Mrs. Meranda's biggest fan, I find these attacks reprehensible and disgusting. If this is what the Brown County Democratic Party will stoop to, how can you trust any of their candidates?
