RELEASE: Polls Consistently Show Strong Support for Austria

Release:
Springfield, Ohio- Recent polling shows that Senator Steve Austria (R-Beavercreek) holds a commanding lead in the race to replace retiring Rep. Dave Hobson in November. According to a new Tarrance Group poll commissioned by the National Republican Campaign Committee, Austria holds a 24% lead over his Democrat opponent with less than 27 days left until Election Day. The results show Sen. Austria retains the lead over his opponent that he had during a May poll by the Tarrance Group.

In a statement, Senator Steve Austria said, "I am very pleased with our poll numbers and I believe it reflects both the hard work I've put into this campaign over the past year, and the extensive grassroots efforts that are going on across the entire district. I am, however, disappointed that my opponent has decided to go negative this week instead of talking about the issues."

On Monday, just after the Columbus Dispatch endorsed Senator Steve Austria, the Neudardt campaign began running negative ads which suggests that she has reached the level of desperation. The constituents of the Seventh Congressional District want to talk about the issues. However, once again, Neuhardt has diverted away from the issues important to the constituents of the district and is instead running attack ads.
