Second Crites Ad: More from Mac and Pete C.

Release:
Columbus – Republican candidate for Attorney General Mike Crites today unveiled his second ad in the race for Attorney General.

“Ohio needs an experienced Attorney General who can lead that office out of the crisis created by Marc Dann and his enablers,” Crites said. “Marc Dann didn’t have the right qualifications to be Attorney General and neither does Richard Cordray – this new ad highlights that fact.”

Crites’ second ad, like the first, parodies the popular Apple computer ad campaign, featuring two characters – “Mack” and “Pete C.” – who engage in a dialog about the Attorney General’s race.

The second ad pokes fun at Cordray’s claim to fame as a five-time champion on TV’s game show “Jeopardy!” in the late 1980s. In contrast, Mike Crites is best known for serving as a Navy Captain and a federal prosecutor.

Mike Crites has been aggressively campaigning to spread his message of leadership and integrity. In the last two weeks, Crites has been traveling the state, garnering news coverage nearly every day, and also started a statewide TV campaign.

Today’s ad follows a newly released poll that shows Crites rapidly gaining on his opponent, Richard Cordray. The poll now has Crites trailing Cordray by just eight points. A Quinnipiac poll issued in mid-August had Crites trailing opponent Richard Cordray by 18 points. A September 15 poll (also commissioned by Ohio NBC news affiliates) showed down by 11 points.

“This race is about qualifications,” Crites Campaign Manager Dan Baker said. “Richard Cordray, while he is a lawyer, has spent most of his career running for public office. Mike Crites, however, offers more than two decades of prosecuting experience, which is more than the last seven Ohio attorneys general combined.”

I'm not real sure that Mike Crites really wants to be put in the light of being one of those annoying Apple cultists...
