But the "big" news from yesterday is that Michigan GOP chairman Saul Anuzis thinks he's ready to play with the big boys. I'm supposed to be impressed that he announced on Twitter and had a blogger conference call (during work hours when most grassroots bloggers are otherwise engaged making a living).
Don't take my word for it...check out his website and see if you agree with me. Anuzis may be the most tech savvy chairman of a state party, but he has no plan at all. He has lots of boilerplate ideas, but not a single strategy for dealing with the situation that the party faces. A fellow Twitterite told me that Anuzis unified the Michigan GOP and that's great...but we need somebody who can WIN... Michigan is still a blue state. Seems to me as if Anuzis still has work to do...in Michigan.
Anuzis was a leader of the "status quo" movement in regards to the subject of primary election reform at the RNC Convention. The RNC is only able to make changes at the convention, so if we were going to fix the broken system that was the time to do it. Anuzis must think Obama vs. McCain was pretty cool because that's what the broken system, that he wanted kept in place, rewarded us with...
We can do better...
