Saying that Mike Fox is controversial is an understatement. While I do believe that Mike Fox genuinely cares about what happens to Butler County's children, he has never been the right guy for the job. He was the least qualified of the candidates who applied and while he has managed to keep the organization out of the headlines for the most part, he remains a prominent fixture in stories himself. I think he is probably a distraction that the Butler County Children's Services doesn't need and I for one will be glad to see him ride off in to the sunset.
I got back in to politics to rid us of politicians like Fox. While I am sure plenty of folks will come by and defend him with little stories and anecdotes, the guy was a menace and a big part of the system that made the Republican brand here in Butler County so tarnished. I don't have years of friendship with the guy clouding my judgement, so I'm free to call it as I see it (which I would do anyways...).
