Last July, Boccieri did an interview with Akron News Now, a radio program based out of Akron. In the interview, Boccieri was asked about a press release Kirk Schuring’s campaign put out accusing Boccieri’s staffers of ‘storming’ Schuring’s campaign headquarters. Instead of conducting himself in a respectable manner, Boccieri launched a volley of false partisan attacks at Schuring. Boccieri accused Schuring and third-party supporters of attacking his military service, saying:
“You know, this has been the playbook from Senator Schuring in the past…I mean, he had third party groups attacking my military service, suggesting that I didn’t have honorable service in the United States Air Force, and now with the gas tax…this is right out of his playbook,”And...
“I will not stand for attacks on my military service, my fourteen years in the United States Air Force.”Contrary to what Boccieri said in that interview, neither Schuring or third-party supporters of his attacked Boccieri’s military service during the campaign. Why did Boccieri feel the need to falsely attack his opponent and his opponent’s supporters? Maybe it’s because Boccieri is a fake (and I am not referring to his military service) whose “principles” are nothing more than a poll-decided marketing message? Maybe it's because he will say and do anything to win an election? I think the Akron Beacon Journal said it best when they said the following about Boccieri in their endorsement of Schuring: “His record in office is thin, his campaign little more than a collection of pre-packaged talking points.”
One of the things we are trying to do through the ‘Youngstown John’ update is expose Boccieri for who he really is, and we feel that his falsely accusing political opponents of attacking his military service is one of the many examples of how he will say and do anything to get ahead.
