Congratulations, Ron D'Epifanio!

One of the tasks assigned to all seven of Butler County Regional Chairs, of the Butler County Republican Party, is to select an individual who is to be named as Volunteer of the Region. With over 70 members in the Fairfield Region, it is difficult to narrow it down to one choice. After all, we have some members who have served for as long as I have been alive! We have some newer members who shine brightly in their dilligence and bring us a lot of good work in the campaign wars we wage. Such as my good friend, Matt Hurley.

Of course, this year's Lincoln Day was scheduled during our annual out of town vacation, so my family and I have been away from the area, enjoying the warmth and hospitality of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Since I was going to be out of town, I asked my Vice-Regional Chair, Marty Judd to present the award on my behalf. Here is a copy of the text:

Lincoln Day 2009

Volunteer of the region award

Dear Friends and members of the Butler County Republican Party. I have asked my vice-regional chair and good friend, Marty Judd to present this award on my behalf this year due to the fact that my family and I are out of town on vacation and unable to join with you this year.

The core of any successful organization depends on visionary and effective leadership. For many years, we were blessed to have Wendell Judd serve us as Regional Chair and I know that many of you remember and miss him, as I do. It is in his honor that I am dedicating this award and will do so as long as I am Regional Chair.

For many years, the region in Fairfield has been blessed with many talented individuals who have contributed mightily to our success. We have had a combination of many different types of individuals from many walks of life who have given of their time, their financial resources and their talents to make our region strong and vibrant.

One such individual I wish to honor this year has been a work horse. He has always been there when called upon and his political influence is outstanding. I can truly say that if not for his wisdom and guidance, I would not be serving as your Regional Chair. He is an inspiration and a dynamic force and we are so very proud of him and the way he goes about his business. He has been a member of the region since 1976 and I felt that his time had come for he to be recognized for the brilliance and talent he brings us. Please join with me in honoring this year’s recipient, Mayor Ronald A. D’Epifanio.

It brings me great joy to honor Ron, as he is deserving of the recognition. We are indeed fortunate to have such great people in Fairfield!
