Third Lawsuit Against ORP on Fake SCC Endorsements

Release:
Columbus, Ohio - GOP State Central Committee candidate George Momirov today filed a complaint with the Ohio Elections Commission alleging the Ohio Republican Party has violated campaign laws with an ongoing postcard campaign promoting his opponent, Michael F. Colley.

According to Momirov, the state party has included false or misleading wording in their postcard campaign stating that Mr. Colley is endorsed by them when he is not. "The Ohio Republican Party readily admits that they are promoting State Central Committee candidates in violation of the own rules, and Ohio Elections law, yet they continue this postcard campaign," says Momirov.

In his complaint, Momirov states, "There are dozens of contested races for Republican State Central Committee throughout the State of Ohio where the Ohio Republican Party has made similar false statements promoting certain candidates in those races, claiming that one was “endorsed by the Ohio Republican Party,” when the same is not true in those races either." Ms Jo Ann Davidson in District 3 race is just such an example.
State Central Committee candidate Thea Shoemake, of Cincinnati, has recently filed a similar complaint, and other candidates across Ohio are considering the same action.
