WASHINGTON, D.C. – Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) today issued the following statement in response to the United Nations’ attempt to reprimand Israel:
“We should stand strongly with our ally Israel, the only Democracy in the Middle East. After the United Nations’ latest anti-Israeli actions and at a time when Middle East tensions are high, it is more important than ever to remain committed to a strong Israel,” said Portman.
Senator Portman has been fully committed to a close and friendly relationship with Israel. During his time in the United States House of Representatives and in his time in the private sector, Portman has had the opportunities to travel to Israel and discuss these issues with Israeli leaders
