Rep. bob Gibbs Reacts to President Obama's 2012 Budget Proposal

Statement:
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Congressman Bob Gibbs released the following statement following President Obama released his budget for the 2012 fiscal year.

“America is facing a debt-driven financial crisis the likes of which we have never seen, and we must act immediately to start solving it.  However, President Obama’s budget does not go far enough in cutting the nation’s soaring deficits.  It spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows too much – ultimately hurting American job growth.  We all know our economy simply can’t afford these policies and yet the President’s budget doubles down on the strategy of the past: locking in unsustainable Pelosi-era spending and debt while increasing taxes on job creators.  If we don’t cut up the government credit cards and get our fiscal house in order, we’ll stifle job growth now and for generations to come.”
