Gov. Kasich Announces Cole as Controlling Board President

COLUMBUS – Today Gov. John R. Kasich announced that Randy Cole will serve as President of the Ohio Controlling Board, an arm of the Office of Budget and Management (OBM) that provides legislative oversight over certain capital and operating expenditures by state agencies and has approval authority over various other state fiscal activities.
 
In addition to his role as Controlling Board president, Cole serves as policy advisor to OBM Director Timothy S. Keen, where he is responsible for coordinating shared service and government reform initiatives on behalf of OBM and the Governor’s Office.
 
Previously, Cole served as Director of Audit Services and Technology for Auditor of State Mary Taylor, and worked as a sales and marketing executive at FirstEnergy Corporation. He was also president of a technology company that specialized in online application development for government clients. Cole began his career in the Ohio Statehouse as an LSC intern and later served as a budget analyst for the Senate Republican Caucus before leaving to work in Summit County government for six years.
 
Randy earned his bachelor’s degree in public policy management from the University of Akron.
