COLUMBUS – Today Gov. John R. Kasich appointed Robert C. McClelland of Shaker Heights (Cuyahoga Co.) to serve as Judge of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. McClelland will assume office on March 28, 2011 and must run in November 2012 in order to serve out the remainder of the unexpired term ending January 5, 2015.McClelland earned his bachelor’s degree from Denison University and his juris doctor from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. He has been admitted to practice law in Ohio, the U.S. District Court Northern District of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. McClelland is currently a partner at the firm of Rademaker, Matty, McClelland & Greve, where he has worked since 1984. McClelland also worked at the offices of Petro & Troia, and taught high school and middle school English while completing his law degree.McClelland is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, and the Cuyahoga County Law Director’s Association.
