Gov. Kasich Congratulates New State School Board President, Thanks Superintendent Delislefor Her Service

COLUMBUS – Today Gov. John R. Kasich issued the following statement on the election of Debe Terhar as president of the State Board of Education and on the resignation of Superintendent of Public Instruction Deborah S. Delisle.  Terhar is an elected member of the board from Cincinnati; Delisle has served since 2008.

"I congratulate Debbie Terhar on her election by her peers to be president of the State Board of Education.  I look forward to working with her to put more dollars in the classroom and less in bureaucracy, and empower parents and teachers to improve our schools for Ohio's children.  Ohio appreciates Superintendent DeLisle's service to our state and I wish her well in all her future endeavors."
