Gov. Kasich Executive Order Bans Public Funds for Offshore Services

COLUMBUS – Today Gov. John R. Kasich signed an Executive Order prohibiting state agencies from using public tax dollars to contract for services provided outside of the country. The purpose of Kasich’s order is intended to encourage Ohio’s economic recovery and improve the state’s ability to retain and attract jobs following the recent recession. 
Kasich also directs agency cabinet directors to personally provide their Chief Procurement Officers – or similar official – with the directive and requires all new contracts to affirm that the services or products provided are made, produced or stored in the United States.
