Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce Endorses Campaign to Retain SB5

Release:
(Columbus) - Building a Better Ohio campaign spokesman Jason Mauk issued the following statement today regarding the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce vote to officially endorse the effort to retain Senate Bill 5:

"Nothing hurts economic development more than a high tax burden, and the people of Dayton learned that the hard way two years ago, when the city's only Fortune 500 company abruptly moved its headquarters to Georgia.

Ohio's job creators know that the key to economic growth is making Ohio a more affordable place to live, work and do business, and that starts with getting the cost of government under control. Senate Bill 5 offers our local communities the critical flexibility to balance their budgets during tough economic times. The reasonable and long-overdue reforms we're asking of our government employees will protect vital public services while respecting the ability of taxpayers to fund them. That's what this campaign is about, and we're grateful to have the support of the men and women working every day on the front lines of our effort to build a better Ohio."

The Chamber serves nearly 3,000 job creators and businesses in a nine county region of Ohio.
