More Distractions of Kasich v. DeWine

The latest development in the title match between Governor Kasich and Chairman DeWine affords the Republican Party an opportunity to piss off social conservatives, fiscal conservates, and the Tea Party.

Bill Sloat (thanks for the #3 ranking!) reports that pro-Kasich forces have enlisted Rebecca Simpson-Heimlich to enter the race for state central committee in district 8. That race was already going to be interesting because social conservative darling Lori Viars was being challenged by Tea Party up-and-comer Maggi Cook.

This one is going to get U-G-L-Y...and Warren County is not one of those areas where Democrats really have much hope oftaking advantage otherwise, so the fraticide here could potentially make for an opportunity for Democrats if it gets as out of hand as I think it will. Other races will be effectd by a split of this magnitude.

Here's some food for thought: If the Chairman believes that this fight will allow Obama and/or Brown to win their respective races here in Ohio, why doesn't he step down to prevent this from happening?
