MLK's Dream Didn't Include Racists of Any Color

Perhaps Mark will weigh in here or elsewhere, but I can't help but put up a short post about a brewing controversy involving the Cincinnati Public Library and their Martin Luther King Reading List. Bill Sloat got the ball rolling here and Tom Blumer of BizzyBlog added his two cents here.

Anybody who says -- and I quote: "I mean, if black people kill black people every day, why not have a week and kill white people?" -- doesn't deserve having her name spoken in the same sentence as Dr. King let alone having her "work" be celebrated in his name. I might feel differently about this if she had recanted and her books actually promoted the non-violent approach that King advocated, but she hasn't and they don't.

Shame on the Cincinnati Public Library for promoting this trash and denigrating MLK's memory and Dream with this awful garbage.
