I sit corrected on my assumption that they were Clinton appointees... I still am adamant that judges should not legislate from the bench, regardless of who appointed them for life.

Yes, one was appointed to the current position by Bush the First, this was probably a quid pro quo move to get another judge approved by the dem dominated Senate at the time. And, of course, the other was a Carter nominee...Hmm......he was a Democrat, wasn't he? Yup.
