Annan Asks For Leadership Among Other Things

Check out this short brief from the UN News Centre.

Matt's Chat

Mr. Annan, let me spell it out for you. You want our "strenth, imagination, money, and leadership" but are unwilling to enforce your own organization's resolutions? We gave you our strength in Iraq. We have given you as much imagination as you deserve in our many attempts to draft yet another resolution to allow the UN to do what is right in Iraq. You get enough of our money, some say too much. And we, along with the Coalition of the Willing provided all the leadership that the UN needed to deal with this crisis. "Bureauacracies move more quickly" when businesses get involded? Thanks for the insight there, chief. I would think the UN bureaucracy would motiviate itself to follow up on enforcing their resolutions.

Mr. Annan wants to know what the UN does best. Mr. Annan, the UN is fantastic at organizating and providing humanitarian assistance. The UN is great at promoting dictators and human rights abusers. The UN is great at passing resolutions that they don't enforce. The UN has become a joke under you leadership, Mr. Annan.

Mark's Remarks

Wow, Amen, Matt, Preach on!!!
Mr. Annan, you have shown that you are nothing more than a lead bureaucrat...You have shown no initiative, and the UN has shown it has even less teeth than its predecessor, the League of Nations. The UN has shown it is nothing more than a paper tiger, spouting off, shooting the words of synchopant dictators, and putting human rights abusers on the UN Human Rights council (read Syria, among others, including China). It is a shame that an august body with such great potential has become nothing more than what it is today, a haven and sounding board for those who hate America, who hate Freedom, and want to see every country become a third world country. The UN has become Hate America Central, and we keep feeding it money....who out there thinks it is time we ask the UN to pay off its millions in back rent to the US? Who out there thinks it is time for an eviction notice?

Mr. Annan, we in the US begged the UN to show some cajones and back our coalition of the willing....We showed great leadership in working with your recriminations, and in giving in to your requests...yet that was not good enough. We eventually did what you refused to do...enforce your own resolutions....We have provided leadership and insight galore, and have offered to share the glory...yet you want it all, and what have you done for it, aside form prop up a dictator for 12 years in Iraq by doing nothing. You have turned the UN into nothing more than Communist and Socialist U. So much for the bold vision of mutual respect.
