Another Judicial Nominee...More Liberal Hate

It's not clear whether Brown, a conservative and the only black member of the California Supreme Court, will get confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia or become embroiled in political gridlock that has scuttled other Bush nominations.

Civil rights, abortion, gay, minority and women's groups went on the offensive Monday, holding news conferences in Los Angeles and San Francisco urging Brown's defeat.

"She might be nice to have lunch with, but that doesn't mean I want her on the Supreme Court or the D.C. Court of Appeals," said Gillian Small, president of the California Association of Black Lawyers.

Matt's Chat

The Republicans in the Senate had better not let this happen again. If another highly qualified candidate gets the shaft from the Senate, there should be all sorts of hell to pay.

This isn't about the issues. The people have spoken on the issues. This is about the left trying to get the legislative branch to do what they are unable to do on their own. It is wrong. And it shouldn't be allowed to happen.

Mark's Remarks

No, for once the Republicans need to grow a backbone and MAKE THESE IDIOTS GO THROUGH A REAL FILIBUSTER, NOT THE PROMISE OF IT. And, this shows, once and for all, that liberals are the true racists of today. Look at the nominees they have caused trouble for: one a Hispanic, already pulled out, and now it looks bad for Justice Brown, a black single mother who worked her way through law school and is one of the most respected judges in California. Wait, I get it...if you are a black conservative, you must be a sellout. That is why the Black Congressional Caucus has turned on her. You see, this is the institutional racism of the left today. If you are black, to be accepted, you must be liberal. If you are a minority, you cannot be a conservative, in the eyes of liberals. What a shame....I guess they aren't so open minded after all.....I hope the Republicans in the Senate force this issue and stand behind Justice Brown, as she represents a role model for the deteriorating black community in cities....a woman who did not let things stand in her way, who did things right, and succeeded. Of course, that is contrary to what liberals and the Black Caucus want: handouts and quotas. They want blacks and minorities beholden to the Dem Party like a junkie to a dealer. What a shame....I encourage all of you out there to email your senators and tell them to get off their hump and get this woman confirmed.......
