Fair and Balanced: Retribution for 100th Victim
U.S. forces and Iraqi police raided an area west of Baghdad on Saturday and arrested 11 people suspected of links to insurgents, witnesses said following the bloodiest day of attacks against American forces in a month.
...
Eight men and three women were taken into custody during the raids, which began before dawn around the flashpoint town of Khaldiyah in the "Sunni Triangle" west of Baghdad, according to local residents. The Sunni Muslim areas north and west of Baghdad have been the scene of most attacks against American troops.

Notice that the article is supposed to be about a raid (the title of an article is supposed to alert the reader to what they are about to read), but check out the second paragraph. What does this have to do with the raid? It is like the author was compelled to write something bad in this article and this is what he felt like writing because, as we all know, the war was about oil afterall. Here is another passage that I take exception to:
The ongoing bloodshed has raised questions about U.S. stewardship of Iraq, especially since the United States has been unable to find any weapons of mass destruction, whose alleged presence in Saddam Hussein's arsenal was cited as the major justification for the war.
The United States stewardship is going along just fine. The quality of life of most Iraqis is BETTER than when the country was under Saddam. Whether our team finds what Saddam hid or not has nothing to do with whether or not our stewardship succeeds or not. What the author is trying to say is that we have found nothing thus far to justify the war. That couldn't be further from the truth. When you actually READ the Kay PRELIMINARY Report, you will find that Mr. Kay's team has already found several pieces of evidence of Weapons of Mass Destruction programs which were prohibited by UN resolutions and were cause for the resumption of the original conflict under those resolutions. I challenge our liberal readers, to show me a direct quote from a senior administration official (Rice, Rumsfeld, Powell, etc.) or from the President himself stating that the presence of weapons of mass destruction was the sole justification for the war. (The key word is "sole.") Good luck with your mission, should you choose to accept it.
Here is something else to follow:
Elsewhere, Dutch marines clearing munitions in the southern al-Muthana province have called in British and American weapons inspectors after finding "a few dozen suspect shells," a Defense Ministry spokesman in the Netherlands said Saturday. The 130-mm artillery shells found Oct. 8 showed "several indications of some kind of chemical reaction," a Dutch spokesman said, although he added they could be regular munitions discolored by the heat and sun.
Let's see how this one goes...
Mark's Remarks
Wow, the media slants a story about a raid into another attack on the "stewardship in Iraq?" Why am I not surprised? Of course, they would say this represents fair and balanced, but what is fair and balanced when you go off topic in such a way? I believe it shows progress that we are able to move so quickly to raid insurgents and such, and does not show poor stewardship. The voices of Iraqi Freedom are numerous, people are enjoying their new rights. Of course, if we could only quit emboldening terrorists with this much coverage, I imagine things would die down. But, of course not....we have to embolden the terrorists so we can make Bush look like the failure he supposedly is, and can sacrifice more American troops so the Democrats can win the White House. It is, after all, the liberal way.Let me assure the men and women in uniform, some of whom have been given the address to this blogsite: We here at WMD will never gloss over your duty, will never seek to undermine your morale in the glorious fight against the evils of terrorism, we know you are doing a lot over there, and we do not want you to believe the CNN's who make it sound like many of us have forgotten. The only ones who have are those running for President on the left, and their cronies in Congress and the media.
Wow, hmm....let me see....they actually found "suspect shells." I am sure it is all part of the vast right wing conspiracy, because we know the Dutch are raging conservatives, don't we? Give me a break. IF you actually read the Kay Report, and can actually understand the English language, you can see we are finding the WMD information that Bush said we would. We are also finding more weapons material.....however, it is dismissed because the media at large does not report it, and the Dem 9 choose to ignore it. Maybe they should go to Iraq and see for themselves what they are doing. Of course, that would require backbone and wherewithal.
Good job, troops...keep fighting the good fight!!!! Hoooah!!!!
