Another Leaked Memo...Another Investigation
Senate Intelligence Committee leaders plan to ask the Justice Department to investigate who leaked a top-secret Pentagon memo sent to the committee.
The Oct. 27 memo from Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas Feith provided details of intelligence linking Osama bin Laden's al-Qaida network and the toppled Iraqi government of Saddam Hussein. Details of the memo were published in the Nov. 24 issue of The Weekly Standard, a conservative magazine.
Committee Chairman Pat Roberts, R-Kan., said he expected to ask the Justice Department and the Pentagon to determine if the leak constituted a crime. If it did, a criminal investigation should be conducted, he said.
"That's highly classified material and an egregious leak of classified material," he told reporters.
He said committee staff drafted a letter to the Justice Department and but was waiting to consult with the panel's top Democrat, Sen. Jay Rockefeller of West Virginia, before sending it.

Chairman Roberts is being WAY too nice with the Democrats on his committee, especially Senator Jay. Would it matter if Jay said, "no, I don't think we need to know who leaked this."? An investigation is the right thing to do, so do it.Also note that at the end of the article there is a reference to the Spy Games story as if THAT was in any way related to THIS. Disgusting.

What I think should be investigated is the link between UBL and Saddam....Why isn't the administration pushing this more, why are they distancing themselves from it? Are they afraid Teddy Boy will launch another "this was cooked in Texas speech"? So what? Kennedy is a caricature of every wrong thing with politics and the Kennedy clan.
What should be investigated is the obstruction of justice by the Senate Democrats. What should be investigated is the subterfuge used by the Senate Democrats in politicizing the intelligence before 9/11, etc. to destroy a President....this reeks of conspiracy charges, and as Zell Miller said, if it aint treason, it is its first cousin.
