More Good Numbers from Iraq

There are now over 100,000 Iraqis in uniform in post-Saddam Iraq, making them the 2nd largest contingent. Also, oil production is better than expected...Read it here.

Matt's Chat

I believe that there should be even more Iraqis working security in their own country. This is good news, and it does show progress, but I want more. The more Iraqis there are patrolling the streets, making them safer for their fellow citizens, the better off the country will be. And the US forces can concentrate on taking out these foreign fighters and Saddam loyalists.

Oil production numbers being higher than expected is also a good sign that things are indeed turning around for Iraq. They will need a good strong economy in the coming years to stablize and insure this fledgling democracy and free enterprise in the Middle East.

Mark's Remarks

OK, so the liberals complained about not getting the Iraqis involved quick enough, or turning things over to them. Well, that is just exactly what I am seeing, getting this force up and rolling....The liberals complained that oil production would stagnate in Iraq or not be as good....What do we see? Better than expected numbers. You know, it must be sad to be a liberal today, and hope that we lose more soldiers, that the economy tanks, and that we get hit by a terrorist again. It must be sad to hope for such pessimistic and horrific things, but that is what the liberals do...all because of a single-minded hatred for one man.
