Treason? Or Its First Cousin?...Either Way, Reprehensible!!!!!
It was revealed this week, in an exclusive by talk radio host and Fox News host Sean Hannity the Democratic memo that has Washington rocking. This memo outlines the Dems strategy to politicize the work of the Intel Committee in the Senate, even while our men and women are dying overseas......Read all about the indignation, the lame excuses, and the memo itself.
Matt's Chat
Senator Jay is responsible for partisan politics on a committee that has been non-political by tradition. It just illustrates how desperate the liberal elite have come to take such actions. We are at war! There is no other condition to describe our current situation. Politicizing the war is not ethical or moral. And no amount of excuses by Jay can change the fact that he and his staff are out to get the president by means that are quite dirty. We've sat on this story because we've been waiting to see what position other sites and blogs were going to take. I can see from the coverage (or lack thereof) that "fair and balanced" is what you get when you support the conservative movement; but most liberal sites I've seen aren't commenting on the memo. I can not help but ask why. Could it be that this actually is wrongful behavior for a senator of the United States of America to be engaged in and that the smartest thing for liberals to do is sweep it under the rug? I don't know...I'm just asking. I explore quite a bit of the blogosphere, not all of it conservative, and I find it curious how those who criticized the conservative coverage of the Rush Limbaugh story are suddenly quiet on an issue that really matters. We inspired one liberal blog to come back because we didn't jump right on the Rush story. While I support bloggers choosing their own topics and features, I can not help but see hypocracy when the shoe is on the other foot. It is embarrassing. I understand that. That's politics. I believe that liberals can't be supporting Jay in this crusade. it wouldn't make sense. What were to happen if a Democrat were president and a Republican senator did this? The outrage from the left would be defeaning. Hollyweird actors would stage hunger strikes; Michael Moore would produce another "documentary"; and mass chaos would result.
I, for one am outraged by this nonsense. I encourage all readers to send emails to the Intelligence Committee and express your own feelings.
Mark's Remarks
Senator Miller is dead on....This behavior is reprehensible....The fact that the Dems would try to politicize a committee whose job it is to oversee, and who makes serious policy in terms of intel gathering, etc., while our men and women are overseas dying, is unjustifiable....And, it is a bald faced lie, in my opinion, that this memo has not been circulated or discussed among the Dems. The strategy outlined falls in line with exactly what they have been doing in regards to the pre-9/11 intelligence investigation. Of course, most in the mainstream media poo poo this or ignore it, but thank goodness Sean Hannity had the guts to reveal this, and I hope Americans write and call their Senators to tell them this crap has to end. Also, I think Senator Rockefeller should at least resign from the Intelligence committee, maybe the Senate itself, as his behavior and evasiveness have caused a crisis in this very important committee. Even if no Senator of yours serves on the Committee, I encourage everyone out there to write to them to tell them this type of politicizing of things that bear on our sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, and loved ones overseas is not acceptable...Bring the full power of the American people to bear on these people who are so desperate, they would risk American lives for political power.
