Well, I Guess Algore Was Wrong, and they Are Not So Perfect
UPDATE TO HALIBURTON STORY: The Pentagon revealed to day inquiries into overcharging by Haliburton, Inc. on two contracts. Though no wrongdoing is alleged so far, this is the first charge of mishandling of contracts. Read here.
Mark's Remarks
If there has been wrongdoing, it should be punished. If this is a case of unforeseen costs, then it should be looked into. The overcharge for gas can be seen as Haliburton using a poor subcontractor. As for the other charge, at this point, I do not know. Haliburton is being investigated and is cooperating.
However, if Haliburton has this history, why did the former Administration give them just as many special contracts, if not more? Could there have been some under the table patronage? One never knows with the Clinton Administration. I mean, for goodness sake, they auctioned off our top secret tech to China and North Korea, so who knows?
All I know is that this is going public, that THIS administration and the Pentagon made it public to show that there is no special treatment if you do wrong. However, this is troubling.
Let it never be said that WMD will not print a story of clarification or contradiction of points made here. That friends, is called integrity.
