Jimmy Dean

Former President Jimmy Carter will offer support for Democratic White House hopeful Howard Dean in a joint appearance in Georgia on the eve of the Iowa caucuses, campaign aides said on Tuesday.
Carter was expected to remain officially neutral, but words of praise could help boost the former Vermont governor's chances when the race turns to the South on Feb. 3.

Dean's campaign headquarters announced later that the Democratic front-runner would leave Iowa to attend services and Sunday school at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia, where Carter worships.

"This event is not expected to be an endorsement event," the written statement said.

Matt's Chat

Looks like the Deanies are playing it cool, but Matt Drudge has two high level Deanies saying Carter is coming out for Dean. Actually, I believe this story. It's been awhile since Dean has gotten an endorsement from a Democratic failure...Gore, Bradley, now Carter. The only guy missing is Clinton, who says he won't endorse anybody until a nominee is chosen. I wonder how many focus groups were called for that decision!

Mark's Remarks

Wow, Dean is going to pimp another church. I guess he used up all the photo ops in minority churches in Iowa, so now he is going to hit the trail to Georgia, so he can get his pickchure takin' with all dem down home folks who put confederate flags in their pickups, like he said earlier, right Dr. Dean?

I don't know who is the bigger joke: the Clintons for trying to steal the show, or never will be's like Carter who can't admit they suck at national politics and were a total failure as a President. Wow, please Mr. "let the hostages rot in Iran, I wanna sell goods to the Russians, love that detente, and while we're at it, let's boycott the olympics, that will show the Russians to get out of Afghanistan" Carter, please endorse me. Sounds like the death knell. Geez, I think a whackjob of an endorsement by George Lenin Soros ("I;m Keen on Dean") would be bad enough.

And on the Clinton endorsement: he is busy tangled in pulling Wesley "Renfield" Clark's strings.....and sucking all the oxygen his wife hasn't sucked out of the
Dim-o-crapic Party. Let's just face it...(ahem) THE CLINTONS SUCK!
