GM to Air America: Cease and Desist

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld "ought to be tortured." President Bush should be taken out and shot.
Those are a few nutso nuggets from the hosts of Air America Radio, which calls itself the new liberal voice. The fledgling network is carried in New York on WLIB, 1190 AM. With the Iraq torture scandal everywhere, I tuned in, expecting to hear sober policy analysis mixed with glee over President Bush's political pickle.
Instead, I got 10 hours of rancid venom directed at the President, Rumsfeld, Rush Limbaugh, the Catholic Church and anyone else the hosts felt like slamming. If you're a card-carrying lib who likes crude sex jokes and a cartoonish echo chamber, Air America is for you.

During a day of torture by radio, I heard ads for Hewlett-Packard, Greyhound and, especially, General Motors. I asked GM why it appeared in such shows.
Ryndee Carney, GM's manager of marketing communications, said the ads were wrongly picked up from an earlier deal with WLIB. She said the station was ordered to "cease and desist" yesterday, and added: "GM will not advertise on any Air America affiliates."

Dead Air America's end is in sight. If Scare America makes it to the election I will be very surprised. If it makes it to the day after the election, I'll know what it was all really about: Bush Hating and nothing else.
These folks think they have the right to say anything they want and the American people just have to listen. We don't. Say what you want, but if the people don't want it don't claim censorship ala Michael "Miserable Failure" Moore. ALtv will suffer a similar fate...

So this is the supposed "fair", open, and tolerant liberal radio network? It sounds more like partisan, phony, as well as racist and classist to me. Take this critic's advice and change your radio dial if you listen to this crap. It is not even good radio...nothing but crap.
Of course, having sponsors pull out does nothing to help pay the bills these idiots seem to have trouble paying....
Air America has nothing to do with America and so much to do with Hot Air.....what is American about satirizing pedophilia? What is American about painting a broad stroke of hate toward our troops? Nothing. Air America is a travesty, and hopefully more sponsors will pull out, and these idiots can go down in the flames they deserve to go down in.
