Saddam to Face Justice Within Days

From MSNBC:

Saddam Hussein will soon go before an Iraqi judge to be charged and transferred to Iraqi legal custody, but will remain in the physical custody of U.S.-led forces, a military official said on Monday.

“We anticipate that in the next week or so there will be a process where Saddam and other high-value detainees will be handed over to the legal custody of the people of Iraq,” the official in the U.S.-led coalition told reporters.

“However, legal custody, as we have said many, many times, will be transferred to the people of Iraq,” he said, speaking shortly after a ceremony in which the U.S.-led occupation formally ended and an Iraqi interim government took over.

“He (Saddam) will stand in front of an Iraqi judge and he will be handed his indictments,” the official said, without stating what the charges would be.

Matt's Chat

Should be an outstanding week for Iraqi's not named Saddam Hussein!

Mark's Remarks

This is fantastic news. I hope the world is listening when the brutal details of this madman's regime are exposed again. And I hope Saddam rats out his french buddies and others who helped prop up his regime while claiming to love liberty and freedom on the other side of things.
