Kerry Will Always Have Paris

New Swift Boat Veterans for Truth Ad

From Fox News:
The group, which has been largely responsible for questioning the Massachusetts senator's Vietnam-era heroism, has made its largest media buy yet of the presidential campaign. It has put $1.2 million behind a new ad that attacks the candidate's 1970 meeting in Paris with members of two North Vietnamese delegations. The ads, which will be launched Wednesday, will run on broadcast affiliates in the battleground states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Nevada and New Mexico.

The Kerry campaign has acknowledged that Kerry traveled to Paris in 1970 with his then new wife, Julia Thorne. Kerry's campaign said the meetings were not part of any negotiation with the enemy but were part of Kerry's fact-finding efforts relating to the war and ways to win the release of U.S. prisoners of war.

Matt's Chat

This is the stuff that the Swifties should have been focused on from the beginning. I'm not one of those who thinks Purple Hearts and Silver Stars are an issue in this campaign. But I do believe what John Kerry put his Band of Brothers through when he came home is entirely relevant because it speaks to character and trustworthiness.

Here is the definition of treason:
Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
Did John kerry commit treason against the United States of America when he "met" with two delegations of North Vietnamese while the US was still at war with them. Does the fact that John Kerry was still in the US Naval Reserves impact that determination? Does the fact that John Kerry was not authorized by the United States government to engage in any level of communication during a time of war with the North Vietnamese?

If John Kerry wants to debate Vietnam, he's going to have to face those questions too. And the "You're attacking my patriotism" defense is getting old. Answer the questions, Senator. Release your records. Let the American people make those decisions.

Mark's Remarks

John Kerry betrayed his brothers in arms in Paris. He betrayed them on Capitol Hill testifying. He betrayed them by disavowing the existence of POWs for so many years. And he continues to betray them with his misdirection and fuzzy seared memories....

Senator Kerry, if there is nothing to hide, how about full disclosure? I am not talking about the medals, I am not even talking about the North Vietnamese conference in Paris...I am talking about attendance records in the Senate. I am talking about releasing your book "The New Soldier" complete with its original cover of the flag upside down mocking Iwo Jima. Let the American people learn the full facts, Senator. I mean, you say you have nothing to apologize for or be ashamed of...If so, prove it.

Senator, release the full records. Release the full disclosure of how you and your party created Brown Books on the Swifties, with allegations of mental disease and smear tactics of racism; and how the Brown Books were disseminated to the press. How about full disclosure of your relationships with moveon.org, ACT, the Media Group? How about some of that, Senator?

John Kerry Delenda Est!
