So based upon the mud slinging, here is where this campaign is going:
The next shoe to drop is going to be the Kerry trip to Paris to meet with the Viet Cong while he was in the Naval Reserve. This is called treason. Expect Kerry screaming about questioning his patriotism.
After that is going to be a look at the Vietnam Veterans Against the War meeting Kerry attended where they discussed assasinating U.S. Senators who were in favor of the war. This is called a conspiracy to commit murder. Expect Kerry whining about how proud he is of his principled decision to oppose the Viet Nam War.
After that is going to be Kerry's acceptance of free housing from Developers and other businessmen in exchange for preferential treatment from the Senator. Most people would refer to this as bribery. Expect Kerry silence about this hoping the media will not question him.
After that is going to be Kerry's attempt to fabricate documentation in the 1980's to enhance his Viet Nam war record by using his close relationship with Senator Kennedy to remove language that he did not like and add language that he did. Also he had to have a citation that was actually signed by the Secretary of the Navy to make his Silver Star legitimate. This is called fraud. Expect Kerry whining about questioning his service in Viet Nam by those who refused to serve.
Matt's Chat
That's what my crystal ball is telling me too.It is clear to me that this third round of Texas Air National Guard non-story is a pathetic attempt by the Party of Love and their Disciples of Doom (and don't forget their allies in the partisan media) to smear the President and attack his "patriotism" as retribution for the successful Swift Boat Veterans for Truth campaign. It reeks of desperation bred from the reality that Kerry/Edwards is sinking into the abyss.
Bush/Cheney just pulled off a successful convention. Polls that matter are right around the corner and the internals can't be looking good for Kerry/Edwards. Mahatma is right, there is still PLENTY of material still left unresolved that can hurt Kerry/Edwards.
Remember, this election is a referendum on the leadership of Bush/Cheney's term in office; not a ballot on the merits of the Vietnam War. One campaign gets that; the other doesn't. Kerry should take Clinton's advice and leave Vietnam alone because Kerry will lose if he continues to make Vietnam the issue that he runs on. Vietnam is not the war that matters right now...
