Iran on Sunday rejected a proposal by U.S. presidential candidate John Kerry who has suggested supplying the Islamic state with nuclear fuel for power reactors if Tehran agrees to give up its own fuel-making capability.
Foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said it would be "irrational" for Iran to put its nuclear program in jeopardy by relying on supplies from abroad.
"We have the technology (to make nuclear fuel) and there is no need for us to beg from others," Asefi told a weekly news conference.
Matt's Chat
So, let's review shall we? John Kerry, accomplished diplomat to the stars, offers free nuclear fuel to Iran in order to gain leverage to make sure Iran is honest about their claims of wanting to create nuclear energy. The problem? Iran isn't interested in John Kerry's offer.Kerry is 0 for 4 on foreign policy promises. In addition to this, both France and Germany has indicated that they will NOt send troops to Iraq whether Kerry is elected or not. Kerry continues to say that he would get "allies" to send troops to Iraq, yet our real allies appear to already be there. You know, the allies that John Kerry continues to denegrate as "bribed," "coerced," and "Fraudulant." And don't forget that foreign relations gem when John Kerry accused Iraqi Prime Minister Allawi of lying to Congress and coming to Washington for a political photo op.
Don't forget this stuff, America. Don't let John Kerry get away with this stuff.
Mark's Remarks
More of John Kerry's senstive diplomacy. He insulted the Iranians, not that I care.
Really, this notion of giving Iraq nuke fuel makes no sense. We tried this before with North Korea back in the 1990s, remember? That worked out SO well, didn't it? Wake up, people! This is getting ridiculous--same tired old crap, different tired old faces, with of course the same puppetmasters working the strings behind John Kerry.
