Financial Times: Iraq Election Will Complicate Iran

By Matt for the TIB Network:

Just another reason why the Financial Times should stick to...you know...financial news... Here is the teaser to this story:
The victory by Shia clerics in Iraq's elections is likely to complicate US efforts to press Iran to dismantle its nuclear programme.

The United Iraqi Alliance is dominated by two political parties formerly based in Iran, and many members of the bloc still have close ties with their Shia neighbour.
If you think for a minute that the Iraqi Shi'a aren't loyal to Iraq then you haven't been paying attention. This will not complicate matters with Iran in any way, shape or form. Stick to covering Wall Street FT...

Mark's Remarks

I think the victory WILL complicate Iran...as in their theocratic, monopolistic domination of the people. I think Iran's regime will be complicated by the example of the Shia Iraqis going to the polls and democratically electing their leaders of choice. That will complicate Iran. It will not complicate our pressing of Iran--disarm or be prepared for trouble--but it will complicate Iran.
