By Matt for the TIB Network:
The Project for Excellence in Journalism has recently put out a report that claims that there was no media bias in war coverage but that FOX News was the most "one-sided."There are a couple of problems with this report.
The good folks at PEJ are from the Columbia J-School. That's right, they're liberal. So naturally, they see no bias in the coverage by anybody but FNC.
The study only looked at 2000 stories and the criteria for which story was "positive" and which was "negative" was not explained.
You get the spin from Editor and Publisher or you can read the whole report from PEJ.
10:45AM Update
Tim Graham over at NRO's The Corner has more, but here is the key line:...a study by the "Project for Excellence in Journalism," run by former Los Angeles Times media reporter Tom Rosenstiel, whose results we can only sum up as utterly unserious.Utterly unserious...that about sums it up...
Mark's Remarks
This is about like having someone report their own misdeeds to the police, and expecting them to be honest...give me a break. All it takes is a little bit of time and some Lexis-Nexis access playing around with keywords and phrases and you can come up with the FACT that there was bias in the war coverage. Better yet...ask American soldiers in the field if there is any bias of the work they are doing....ask them, libs, if you are brave enough...they will tell you that there is so much good not being reported it is a crying shame....
