GOP Staffer Should Be Fired Immediately

One of Sen. Mel Martinez's (R-FL) staffers wrote that strategy memo that Democrats passed around of a GOP strategy on the Schiavo situation.

I'll agree with Martinez who said, "I never did an investigation, as such," he said. "I just took it for granted that we wouldn't be that stupid. It was never my intention to in any way politicize this issue." It was stupid alright. That staffer should be fired. Publically. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to help the Democrats like this...

9:55AM Update

Tim Graham over at The Corner:
The real lesson of the Schiavo memo is this: to the liberal media, every piece of internal Republican communication is potential news meat, especially if it can be used to make Republicans look bad. (Hopefully, freshman legislators learn this at orientation...) Every internal Democratic memo leak is clearly a Republican plot that should not see the light of day. The Washington Post and assorted other liberal apple-polishers may have accuracy on their side on this one, but they don't have balance.
While that is a good point and one that is right on the money, there is NO excuse for that memo at all. None.

10:30AM Update

Apparently this staffer quit last night...

Mark's Remarks

The staffer took too long to quit....Gee, but what about the Rockefeller staffers who wrote the "Hannity Memo"? What about those who floated the memo about how we should delay action so the Republicans look hand-tied, then chastise them for political gain?

This staffer was wrong and it caused people like Bill Weldon and others to be painted in the wrong light. Most people jumped on this because they actually wanted to save a life, to stop suffering; you know, to promote life, liberty.....
