Two men accused of supporting terrorism by recruiting Muslim extremists are seeking dismissal of the charges, alleging that jailers mishandled a Quran and conducted inappropriate searches of their cells.Disrespecting the Koran is NOT a reason for dismissal. And leaving a mess of paperwork is also not a reason for dismissal. These guys are terrorist thugs and should be treated accordingly.
Attorneys for Adhan Amin Hassoun and Kifah Wael Jayyousi said in court motions that jailers disrespectfully tossed Hassoun's Quran on his bunk and left 8,000 pages of trial papers in disarray.
The incidents occurred in May and June at a federal detention center in downtown Miami and amount to government misconduct and unconstitutional intrusion on trial preparation, according to the motions filed Friday.
"By depriving the defendants of the confidentiality of their own case-related notes, the government has destroyed any possible confidence that their case can be prepared with privacy," the attorneys wrote.
They are accused of conspiring in the 1990s to raise money and recruit Muslim extremists to fight in Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechnya and Somalia. They allegedly recruited Jose Padilla, a former Chicago gang member and Muslim convert who is held by the United States as an enemy combatant.They are lucky this is all that has happened to them...if we treated them as we are being treated by their kind, we'd have cut off their heads by now. A little perspective is in order, don't you think?

How convenient! These scumbags feel their "rights" are trampled on by getting their Koran (or however you want to spell it) thrown on their bunks instead of personally handed to them with a mint and a pillow. Give me a break. I would have expected more from the gulag state of the US. Why didn't we like, you know, turn down the AC or like, play some music or something?
I am sick and tired of the pantywaisted liberals in this country and abroad who think we need to treat people who are trying to kill us with more respect and honor than we treat our troops. Ask Joe Soldier if he would like air conditioning in his tank, or rice pilaf instead of field rations.
I think we should threaten the detainees with sending them to another climate like theirs. Not their home country, but rather to another area. I bet those terrorists would change their tune.
It is sick and reprehensible to see the leftists totally forget who they are talking about. We are not talking about Fred the Car Thief or Jimmy the Fence...WE ARE TALKING ABOUT TERRORISTS WHO WANT TO SEEK THE END OF US...not just the end of Republicans, but the end of the US.
