The Air Brushing of Cindy Sheehan

From WorldNetDaily (go to the article for actual documented, video evidence of this story):
You know that the president says Iraq is the central front in the war on terrorism, don't you believe that?" asked Mark Knoller of CBS, surrounded by a host of other reporters.

"No, because it's not true," Sheehan replied. "You know Iraq was no threat to the United States of America until we invaded. I mean they're not even a threat to the United States of America."

OK, stop tape. Let's review. Who was it that said Iraq undr Hussein was a continuing threat to the US and its interests? Anyone? Anyone? Bill Clinton, when he made it the official policy of the United States to seek regime change. So, Cindy, obviously some of your lib friends thought Iraq was a threat, well, at least enough of a threat to distract from Zippergate, right? But, let's continue with the schizophrenic diatribe Cindy reeled off:

"Iraq was not involved in 9-11, Iraq was not a terrorist state."

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Stop tape again. Cindy, we have found terror camps. Saddam gave bounties to suicide bomber terrorists' families for their "loss." He gave sanctuary to Abu Nidal. He spoke for jihad against us. You know, that sounds kind of like a threat to me. Sounds kind of like a terror state. And let's ask the Iraqis mutilated by Saddam if it was a terror state, shall we? No,didn't think you would want to tackle that one. Ok, continue the paranoia:

"But now that we have decimated the country..."

Uh, excuse me? 3000 schools built. New hospitals constructed. Rape rooms closed. Increased commerce. Aid actually reaching families instead of Saddam's coffers. Electricity at 97%. This is decimation? Uh, Hello! OK, please continue:

" the borders are open, freedom fighters from other countries are going in, and they [American troops] have created more terrorism by going to an Islamic country, devastating the country and killing innocent people in that country. The terrorism is growing and people who never thought of being car bombers or suicide bombers are now doing it because they want the United States of America out of their country."

Uh, Cindy? A little help here...First, you call terrorists "freedom fighters" and say that our soldiers are killing innocents by the scores and creating new terrorists. Who makes the IEDs? Who runs trucks filled with explosives into polling places? Who snipes people walking the streets? Not our soldiers, but these so-called freedom fighters. Then, you say they want America out of their country, even though you just said they came from other countries other than Iraq. One word, Cindy: THERAPY. Back to the article.

A WorldNetDaily search of CBS News, Google News, and Lexis-Nexis archives found not a single news report mentioning Sheehan's "freedom fighters" remark.
Isn't that amazing? It was directly asked by Mark Knoller of CBS News, yet it has not been reported, until now, that Cindy Sheehan thinks people who cut off heads of contractors, kill children on their way to school, use children as bombs are "freedom fighters." Wow! Then, Cindy, why the big deal about your son Casey's death, right? I mean, after all, he was killed by a freedom fighter, right? Here is the kicker, evidently Sheehan has been pulling a John Kerry and speaking to undisclosed foreign Iraqis:
And as soon as we get them out of the country, the insurgency will go down. They might have a little bit of trouble at first, but you know every Iraqi tells me, 'We're a civilization that has been around for thousands of years. We can handle our own problems.'"

Now, not only is Cindy speaking for all slain soldiers' families (without their permission), she is now a spokesperson for all Iraqis (again, without permission or sanction). Wow, your delusions know no end, do they, Cindy? But wait, catch this zinger about her own son:
Sheehan referred to her son, Casey, not as a war hero, but rather a war victim. If I was thinking straight, which I wasn't, I never would have allowed a military funeral, and I wouldn't have buried him in his uniform," Sheehan said. "I just basically stayed sitting on my couch, crying and drinking for a week."

She would have deprived her son of high honors simply for herself. How noble, how sacrificing...how....pathetic.

Truth be told, I think she, for the first time in her life, WAS THINKING STRAIGHT when she met with Bush and praised him. However, over time, that old fever swamp called her back. And boy, did she rush in! What should be something meaningful and private has been turned into a circus, and the person who should be most revolted is the ringmaster....Cindy Sheehan.
