Review: Army of Davids

Indeed.

UPDATE: What? You were expecting more? Glenn Reynolds wrote it for Christ sake...

UPDATE 2: Okay...

One of my favorite scenes from Event Horizon has Sam Neill explaining how the propulsion system of the ship works and one of the crew members says, "F%^& layman's terms; do you speak English?"

I was kind of expecting I would find myself saying that a lot during Army of Davids, but surprisingly I found it rather accessible. And Glenn tackles some pretty serious science in this book. Of course, there were a few chapters that I could relate to directly; but let's face it, most of us are not futurists and wouldn't know what a Singularity was if it came up and shook our hands.

I rank Army of Davids right up there with Hugh Hewitt's BLOG in its ability to explain the technological revolution we are on the frontier of experiencing. More importantly, both books disect the ramifications and consequences of what is happening.

It was a fun and easy read. I'd recommend it...
