Gonzales Must Go

AP News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) Attorney General Gonzales' former top aide has told a Senate committee that Gonzales wrongly stated he was not involved in discussions about firing federal prosecutors.
I was never much of a fan anyway, but lying to Congress isn't cool. There is nothing criminal about firing prosecutors who serve at the pleasure of the president, so why lie about it? I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, but this is just a bridge too far. Don't want to answer the question? Take the Fifth...that is what it is there for...but don't lie to Congress. I expect more from our top law enforcement official...

UPDATE - AP News Alert:
WASHINGTON (AP) Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' former top aide has told Congress that Gonzales and then-White House Counsel Harriet Miers made the decisions on which federal prosecutors to fire.
Still no reason to lie about it...
