The Coleman Saga Continues

It pains me to have to bring this up again because clearly this woman has some serious problems and I sincerely hope that she gets well as soon as possible. But this story really isn't about Frankie Coleman or her problems with alcohol. It is about the poor judgement that the Strickland administration and his fellow Democrats have shown since taking over in January.

Frankie Coleman's troubles were no secret. There is even YouTube video of her DUI arrest out there. Yet Lt. Governor Lee Fisher felt compelled to give this woman a job. Why? If it were merely an attempt to help out a friend to get a second chance, then why not keep her on a short leash? Why all the denials and nonsense?

The Democrats in Columbus have established a pattern of making horrible choices in the personnel department. Marc Dann's Top Cop and Driver have been let go... Jennifer Brunner's team can't seem to answer the phone and when they do, they forget that they are public servants. Now this...

Here is what Mayor Coleman had to say (courtesy of ONN):
"She's the mayor's wife," he said, "because of this, she's under special scrutiny -- sometimes extraordinary, unique -- and sometimes, unfair scrutiny."
WRONG! The scrutiny isn't on Mrs. Coleman...it is on the cover up. Lee Fisher fired Mrs. Coleman's supervisor because said supervisor would not sign off on Frankie Coleman's attendance records. Why? Because Mrs. Coleman wasn't where she was supposed to be.

And here is another question for Mayor Manhood... If you know that your wife has problems and is going to be under scrutiny -- special scrutiny -- unfair scrutiny -- why put her through it? Could it be ego? Mayor, please take care of your wife. That has to be more important than your political career...

UPDATE: Re-reading that ONN piece, I came across this bit:
Last month, Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher told 10TV News that he confronted Mrs. Coleman about the matter, and was dissatisfied with her answers.
He was so dissatisfied that he fired the supervisor... Think about this, folks...

UPDATE 2: Matt Dole over at LincolnLogsBlog asks the right questions...
