I finally got back to read through some of the
comments at HotAir and this one sticks out to me for a couple of reason... One, it is kinda funny. And second, it's so realistic a scenario that I can see it happening just this way.
I’m tired of this all-or nothing “Are you happy with the current system” argument.
John Q. Public: “That house is on fire!”
Senator Schmuckatelli: “I propose throwing this bucket of gasoline on it!”
JQP: “Are you nuts? Don’t do that!”
SS: “Are you happy with the current fire? Do you want to do nothing?”
JQP: *smacks forehead*
I really do think that sometimes the Dee Cee set believes
so much in the power of Big Government that they just
have to do
something/anything about just about
everything. Most of the time, these folks really don't stop and think about the consequences of what they are doing. This bill was rushed through with limited debate and limited amendments. It was about process, not solutions. Throwing gasoline on the house fire isn't the solution to the root problem just because a group of elistist Dee Cee eggheads agree that it is... IF there is a lesson to be learned from this debacle, that's it. That and don't act like a pompous @$$ on a nationally syndicated radio show that has a huge audience in your home state...but that kinda goes without saying. Don't it?
