State officials say Monroe County in southeast Ohio had last month's highest unemployment rate in the state: 8.7 percent.
The Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Tuesday released the county-by-county numbers for May, four days after it reported that the statewide jobless rate was unchanged last month, at 5.7 percent.
Holmes County southwest of the Canton area had the state's lowest unemployment for May: 3.7 percent.
