I just received an email that I thought I'd pass on about the problems with passports and how the new regulations have been made easier for a bit but that is causing new problems...
Over the weekend, we heard from a family whose daughter was required to show additional proof (beyond a photo ID and proof of having applied for a passport) by the airline she was traveling on. I was hoping that your publication might run a brief encouraging people traveling to Canada , Mexico , the Caribbean and Bermuda by air to contact their airlines to see if the airline is requiring additional documents.

Travelers can go to www.travel.state.gov [Link] to get information from the State Department on the requirements and how/where to apply for a passport. Or, they can call 877-487-2778, which is the National Passport Information Center. Boehner’s office continues to be available to answer questions and to help travelers running up against a deadline.
Now you know and knowing is half the battle. Mission accomplished...
