WMD Blast

AP News Alerts:
LONDON (AP) Prime Minister Gordon Brown calls for extending the time limits on questioning terrorist suspects, but he does not make a specific proposal.
How about, "As long as it takes"?
BAGHDAD (AP) Iraq's largest Sunni Arab bloc says it has suspended its membership in Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's coalition government.
The political process in Iraq seems to be broken again...I'll be curious to see what the State Department briefing has on this.
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) An Afghan governor says a kidnapped German journalist and two Afghan colleagues have been freed.
Excellent news!
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) A police official says militants told him they have killed a South Korean hostage, while Western officials say some of the others in the group have been freed.
Let's all hope and pray that this police guy is wrong.
KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) Afghan police say they have recovered the bullet-riddled body of a South Korean hostage in central Afghanistan.
The police guy wasn't wrong...those bastards actually did it.
WASHINGTON (AP) The House Judiciary Committee has approved a contempt citation against White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former presidential legal counsel Harriet Miers.
The White House is going to win this one...
GOURETTE, France (AP) French police have taken away Tour de France rider Cristian Moreni, who failed a doping test.
Barry Bonds will have company in the cheater's club...
BAGHDAD (AP) The Iraqi Interior Ministry has raised the casualty toll in two bombings of soccer fans in Baghdad to at least 50 dead, 136 wounded.
Not a good day to be a soccer fan in Iraq. Once again, we're seeing our enemies using tactics of the desperate and the 527 media are falling for it again.
WASHINGTON (AP) A Federal Reserve survey says the economy logged decent growth in the early summer even as consumers and some businesses had to cope with high gasoline prices and a sour housing market.
It's the Worst Economy Since Hoover (tm)!
