DURHAM, N.C. (AP) A judge has sentenced disgraced prosecutor Mike Nifong to one day in jail for lying to a judge while pursuing the Duke lacrosse rape case.
This is it? Compare this to what would have happened to the accused if Nifong had his way... I don't believe justice was served here. Nifong, and those like him who put politics above justice, put the entire system into question. A contempt charge with a sentence of just one day is insufficient a message to others who would do what Nifong has done.
